If you want to permanently "burn" or embed subtitles into your file for use on devices that don't support external files:
Place the subtitle file in the same folder as your movie and rename it to match the movie's name exactly (e.g., Doctor.Strange.2016.720p.BluRay.x264.srt ).
Can add external subtitles as "hard" subtitles during the ripping process.
