The first season of (1967) follows the iron-willed Robert T. Ironside, a former San Francisco Chief of Detectives who is paralyzed from the waist down after being shot by a sniper while on vacation. Refusing to let his disability end his career, he secures a position as a special civilian consultant to the San Francisco Police Department, operating out of a converted attic office at headquarters.
