The album’s conceptual heart lies in the book Havbrevene (The Sea Letters) by Siri Ranva Hjelm Jacobsen. The book features a fictional correspondence between two sisters: the Atlantic Ocean and the Mediterranean Sea. Inspired by this exchange, Schneider began writing these tracks during the pandemic, a time when the world went still and human history felt momentarily paused.
